Many companies are outsourcing their Design related work thro' Freelance websites. Mostly everyone will be asking for the samples of previous work before awarding the project. The Beginners will not get a chance to show any previous work as no one will be willing to give any task without seeing the previous work. This will go cyclic to form Deadlock.

Similar problem will be faced by Fresh Developers as well as Fresh Article writers also. Developers have the option to use the Open Source platforms for getting work experience. And, Article Writers have the Guest Post option to get work experience in their writing career. But the Designers are NOT having much options to show their talents.

To help the Designers, I have taken an initiative long back by creating separate blog for showing the work of the Designers. But that initiative was NOT successful as my blog fails to get visitors.

Today (January 26th) India celebrates its 63rd Republic Day.

The main ceremonial parade was held in the capital "New Delhi" with Thailand's first woman Prime Minister Yinluck Shinawatra as the guest of honour.

Shinawatra was seated with Pratibha Patil, India's first woman president, as marching bands and military hardware filed past.

India was also set to put on display for the first time its Agni-IV missile which can launch a one-tonne nuclear warhead.

I wish all fellow Indians a Happy Republic Day.

Randi's RtoZ Media Initiative has proved that just having Huge Money is NOT enough to become a Successful Entrepreneur.

We should have heard and read the fact that having huge money is NOT enough to become a Successful Entrepreneur. Lot of Successful Start-ups were started with very low budget in Small Garages, but with huge vision. We might have read success stories of such companies (e.g HP, Apple, Microsoft,Facebook, Google, Reliance,Ford, etc)

Randi Zuckerberg, Former Marketing Director of Facebook, had clearly proved this Fact (i-e having huge money is NOT enough to become a Successful Entrepreneur) in a solid way by failing to bring up her start-up "R to Z Media" at specified time even then she is having huge money .

In August 2011, Randi resigned from Facebook to start "R to Z Media", but she couldn't couldn't launch her website RtoZMedia.com itself in the past 6 months.

Since Randi Zuckerberg was a former Facebook Marketing Director, I thought her initiative of new Social Media firm "RtoZ Media" will be a successful one. And, therefore I predicted huge search volume for the words "RtoZ Media" and "RtoZ". And, surprisingly I found that there is No Trade Mark issues for the names "RtoZ media" and "RtoZ". So, I registered few RtoZ name related websites to make use of the huge search volume for the keywords "rtoz media" and "rtoz".

Past 6 months I am monitoring the search volume and News about "R to Z", "RtoZ", "RtoZ Media" and RtoZMedia. Based on my observation, Randi is NOT able to bring up her Start-up initiative in the 6 months irrespective of her huge wealth. And, interestingly she started deviating her focus on some other things such as acting in a film "olive", speaking in conferences and promoting small brands thro' her twitter account and facebook page.

While announcing her "RtoZ Media" initiative, the Media gave more importance to Randi Zuckerberg related news. Guardian said,

She might not have a reputation as a cutting-edge innovator like her brother, but Randi is no slouch. She, too, went to Harvard, graduating in psychology at about the time Mark was dropping out to focus full-time on the phenomenon he had unleashed.

But I don't know what Media is going to tell about her now.

According to the below poll, most of the people didn't like the name "RtoZ media".

At the time of writing this post, more than 68% people voted as they didn't like the name "RtoZ Media". I couldn't understand how Randi's RtoZ Media will promote the brands of their customers while they were not able to understand/read people's thoughts.

So, we can clearly understand that having huge money is NOT enough to become a Successful Entrepreneur. Right? You can share your thoughts thro' the comments.

WikiPedia Black-out today to protest proposed anti-piracy Acts SOPA and PIPA

English version of Wikipedia is blacked out today (January 18th, 2012) for protesting the anti-piracy Acts SOPA and PIPA.

The blackout is a protest against proposed legislation in the United States—the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) in the U.S. House of Representatives, and the PROTECT IP Act (PIPA) in the U.S. Senate.

So, all the pages in English wikipedia are showing below screen with the message
"Imagine a World Without Free Knowledge"

For more than a decade, we have spent millions of hours building the largest encyclopedia in human history. Right now, the U.S. Congress is considering legislation that could fatally damage the free and open Internet. For 24 hours, to raise awareness, we are blacking out Wikipedia.

Note that this black-out is done using javascript only. So, you can read the english wikipedia easily just by disabling javascript in your browser.

In Firefox, you can disable javascript by doing below steps.

-Click Tools->Options to open Options Dialog box window
-Click Content Tab in the Options window.
- uncheck "Enable javascript" checkbox and click "ok" button.

Now you can read all the wikipedia pages during the black-out period. And, remember to enable javascript in your browser once black-out ends.

Surviving from 95P.com Virus

Today I came to know about 95P.Com Virus. I got a chance to see a machine affected with this 95p.com virus.

I am NOT sure how that computer was affected with 95p.com virus.

But I saw the impact of the virus. It redirect any link opened from Google Search results to 95p.com Initially I thought 95p.com is just spyWare or adWare. But it looks like a virus. I couldn't identify the process name related to 95p.com virus in the Task Manager.

The sample problem occurs when doing search from Ask.com and Yahoo.com also.

I did some Google search for removing this virus. And, it looks like it is difficult to remove it manually. Almost all the blogs/sites are suggesting to find the name of the random process related to 95p.com from Task manager before start removing the entries related to that process from Registry thro' regedit.

But that suggestions were not helpful as I couldn't find the process name itself. Many sites offered to give some cleaning tools for removing the 95p.com redirect virus. But I am not sure whether they will work or not.

If you know more about this 95p.com virus, you can share it thro' the comments.

And, if you are affected with this virus, you can use this page for doing Google Search. The Search result from this page is exactly same as Google.com Search results.

Flippa Restricts Hyper Links in Auction Listing Description [Solved]

Today I came to know that the website selling/buying marketplace website Flippa.com is NOT allowing links in the Auction listing.

Few days back, I listed our ComputerQuiz.info site in the Flippa auction. But it was ended without meeting the reserve price.

So, today again I listed it for half price.

Normally while relisting the Auction, Flippa will retain the old Description "as it is". But today it automatically removed the hyper links in the Description.

Initially I thought there may be some issue in my browser as FireFox recently updated the new version. So, I tweeted @Flippa as "@flippa I am NOT able to add Links within the Listing description. Is this a new restriction from Flippa? or any issue from my browser?"

But I didn't get any reply tweet from Flippa.

So, I did some analysis to make sure that it is NOT the browser or editor issue. I checked all the new listings in the Flippa. None of them were having links in the description.

So, it seems Flippa is restricting the links in the Auction listings.

And, real time traffic reports of this blog shows that some people are visiting my previous post about Flippa by searching "links in flippa auctions"

It confirm that Flippa's blocking of Links in the Auction listing.

Updates

@Flippa replied for my Tweets saying as "Thanks for the heads-up, we'll look into this.". So, it looks like technical issue than policy change. I will update here if I get any additional details.

Google Doodle for 374th birth Day of Nicolas Steno

Today (January 11th, 2012) Google shows special Doodle for marking the 374th birth Day of Nicolas Steno, the Danish anatomist widely regarded as the father of geology.

The doodle illustrates the each letter in the Word "Google" in a geological style, with fossils in various bottom layers, with a green surface on top.

Nicolas Steno was a Danish Catholic cleric and scientist who was a pioneer in both anatomy and geology. Pope John Paul II beatified Steno in 1987. (Beatification is the third of the four steps in the canonization process. A person who is beatified is given the title "Blessed".)

As a young man, Steno set out to study medicine, leaving his native Copenhagen in his early 20s for the University of Leiden in the Netherlands. He then studied anatomy in Italy, where his research on shark teeth led him to question, among other things, how one solid object could be found inside another — such as with fossils. His ideas on “solid bodies within bodies” were published in 1669 in his seminal Prodromus dissertation.
Steno, however, would soon leave science behind. Born into a Lutheran family, he converted to Catholicism and was ordained as a priest in 1675 and became a titular bishop two years later.

Solved Data Extraction problem by adding "status" column

Recently I had worked on developing a Script for getting data from external websites using php cURL.

It took more Time and Effort for executing the script, as the script execution was stopped intermittently many time due to unknown issue.

i-e I had to rerun the script multiple times to collect the data from the third-party site.

I couldn't find the reason why the script execution was stopped. Anyway, I found a work around to handle this issue.
I updated the php script to store the extracted data in a mysql table with status column. i-e once data for particular item is extracted fully, the corresponding row in the mysql table will me marked as "completed". And, updated the php script to process only the rows which are NOT having status as "completed".

This workaround saved lot of time and effort. Anyway, I am still looking for the root cause of this issue. I already set huge value as script time out period using "set_time_limit()" function.

YouTube is down. It is showing Error message "Http/1.1 Service Unavailable" (update- YouTube is Up )

Google's Video Sharing Site YouTube.Com was partially down. It is showing Error message "Http/1.1 Service Unavailable" when trying to access any channel (e.g http://www.youtube.com/qualitypointtech ) from FireFox browser.

And, the Chrome browser shows "The app is currently unreachable" error message.

Anyway, individual videos and Home page are loading properly. And, the statistics are Not getting displayed in the individual videos.

Update- The problem is solved now.

Why the Salary for "Software Testing" over takes Salary for "QTP"?

Recently Google YouTube had informed me that my Channel becomes the part of YouTube's Partner program which will allow me to earn good revenue by releasing quality, unique and useful videos on my YouTube Channel.

So, I had decided to add lot of Tutorial Videos for Software Testing and QTP for Free. Before joining Google's YouTube partner program I thought of publishing those videos as paid content.

Today I have noticed a strange thing while preparing Tutorial video for explaining What is QTP.

I was trying to compare the salary of QTP and Software Testing using indeed.com data.

The comparison of QTP Vs. Software Testing gives strange result.

From the above result graph, we can understand that the salary for QTP related jobs went down past months while the salary for "Software Testing" went high during that same period.

I am NOT sure whether really the salary for QTP got reduced or this result is due to some other reason (e.g Indeed data collection problem, search term might have changed).

Information Technology is the combination of hardware and software that use to improve the efficiency and competitiveness of businesses that has led to technological change. Most businesses and companies network their computers so that information can be shared among each other and to their respective clients.

IT applications are widely prevalent in the modern business and their great benefit is the way they can lower costs and can mange the business in a more optimized manner.

While web applications are best medium of information sharing and utilizing their best services, the importance of desktop applications can’t be ignored where there is unavailability of internet and network shares. In case of a payroll system, multimedia distributions, CRMs, off line education and training resources, desktop applications play a vital role for end users. Thus, from usability and quality perspective, it becomes necessary for a user to test the installation/un-installation and verifying the compatibility of the desktop applications on multiple individual machines or network stations. Here, the need arises for Installation testing of CDs/DVDs/USBs/flash drives on which the desktop applications are commonly ported.

From QA and Testing point of view, Installation is the first interaction the user has with the product. An application needs to be installed on the system before a user can use it. It is very important to make sure that user does not face any problem while installing the application. This article describes the installation process on a windows platform. The widely used method of installation is from a CD. Instead of the traditional method of installing software from a physical CD, software can also be installed from the Internet, from a network location or can even be pushed to the end user's machine. Before starting installation, following are the checks that must be performed:

The package that contains the application CD is not tampered and includes all the supported installation manuals/documents.
CD-ROM is working properly.
The serial or License key is available before installation.
The CD/DVD is physically un-damaged and is purchased from an authorized source.
Sufficient memory, processor and add-on, software are available

User starts installation on the machine by inserting the CD/DVD into the supported CD/DVD player. If, auto run is enabled, then CD/DVD will start running automatically; otherwise setup has to be run from the defined path. After the CD starts, [following checks, like EULA, ], the End User License Agreement will pop up with the two options of agree or deny. User has to read through the agreement carefully before agreeing or denying it. In this scenario user can check what happens if he/she denies the agreement. Some software requires the user to enter a serial number or software key (or code) during the installation. You can usually find the number or key printed on the installer disc, disc case, in the manual, or as a certificate provided with the software. If you had downloaded the software, the key may be sent in a separate email. You should make note of the number or key before installing the software. This is when the installation process commences. If in this process any other supportive software is needed the application should prompt the user for it; else it should guide the user through the remaining part of installation. Now user should check whether the application can be run or not. Installer now performs certain actions such as:

· Copy files to a destination folder on a hard disk

· Create short cuts

· Change system files

· Check for expiry of trial version

· Check for application install per user option such as default or standard etc.

· Testing of license key validation

Other methods of installation include: installation from dumps, network, online, and installation done by an administrator. In all these types of installation a particular and well defined process has to be followed. In verifying the installation it is necessary to take into account certain things which are mentioned below:

· Type of installation being executed(i.e. how it is executed)

· Features of OS on which the software is being installed

· Interaction of the software being installed with other applications and tools on the system

· Repeated installation factors like repair, modify, update

· Entering the serial number / code correctly

· System requirements

While installation a user might face the following obstacles:

Space not available
Re-installation behavior
Abrupt exit of installation
Memory usage not as per specifications

These obstacles can be overcome by going through some very basic check points while carrying out installation such as:

Verify you have administrative access
Going through the readme file: it contains exact instructions on how to install a program
Messages flashed during installation process: it will typically prompt you to install the program or you may need to run a separate install before the program can be fully used.
Close or disable other running programs while installation as it may hamper the process
Reboot the machines after completing the installation process

Before a user starts working with any software, he first has to install it on the computer or on network. A proper installation will allow his application to perform what it’s supposed to do. Installation verification’s main focus is verifying successful installation and un-installation of the application. It's during the installation that users get the first impression of your product. Understanding this process is very important and justifiably requires special attention and hopefully this article explained this process implementation.

Solved the Error "Picture Manager has not been installed for current User"

Past few days I used to see below error message whenever I try to open any image file using windows picture manager. But it was working properly previously. I haven't done any change recently.

Picture Manager has not been installed for current User. Please run setup to install application

Similar error was displayed for Microsoft PowerPoint also while other office applications (eg. ms word)were properly.

I did some Google Search about this issue and I tried various ways specified in different websites. But nothing solved the issue.

Even I tried Microsoft Office Repair option and tried completely uninstalling the office (but it was NOT successful) and reinstall it.

But nothing helped to solved the issue.

Finally I found this workaround in one website and it solved this issue.

- Create new user account with Admin rights.
- Log in as the new account.
- Open and close all Office applications.
- Open RegEdit.
- Highlight "Office" in the HKEY_CURRENT_USR ->Software->Microsoft in the registry
- Choose "Export" option to save the Office related registry entries in the hard disk.

- Now login as usual account.
- Export the saved registry entry file from the RegEdit.

Now everything should work fine.

Jingle Bells in Google Home Page

Today (December 24th, 2011), Google shows an excellent animation of "Jingle Bells" song in Home Page of Google for celebrating the Holiday season. Note that Google had started showing Holiday Doodles yesterday itself.

Yesterday's Holiday Doodle was Static one. But Today it is showing animated Doodle with Audio of Jingle Bells music.

And, this Doodle is having option to mute the sound. At the End of the animation, Google will show the search results for the search terms "Happy Holidays".

Google used to show interesting animated Doodles such as Apple falling from Tree for the Newton's birthday and PacMan Game. Recently it showed animated Doodle for 60th anniversary of Staistaw Lem's first book publication

Marcin Wichary, Sr. User Experience Designer of Google has explained about the technology used for showing the Stanisław Lem Google doodle. And, Google made available the entire source code of this animated Doodle here.

Google has started showing "Happy Holidays" Doodle from today onwards.

Below Doodle is getting displayed on Home page of Google Today (December 23rd 2011).

A new survey finds Americans by a wide margin prefer the traditional “Merry Christmas” greeting to the non-specific “Happy Holidays.”

According this Survey done by "Knights of Columbus-Marist Pol" nearly two-thirds of adults (64%) think people should say, “Merry Christmas,” while less than one-third (31%) believe the appropriate greeting is “Happy Holidays.”

Suggestions for improving Quality of Flippa which is a Websites Selling/Buying Market place

I am using "Flippa.Com" for selling our Websites. I found Flippa very useful for selling few of our websites (christmas site, job site, free online timesheet site, great quotes site, html5 tutorial site, etc) at appropriate prices. Anyway, the listing price and Success fee are bit high. But it seems this high listing price is required to filter out junk websites so that the potential buyers can easily choose only the best websites.

But Flippa is having some downsides also. For example, few of our websites didn't get appropriate bids even when I listed them multiple times. The thing is those listings are NOT getting enough views. i-e The potential Buyers are not seeing the listing.

Flippa is allowing us to relist the site for half of the listing price if the particular site didn't sell. But still there is some possibility for the second listing also not getting appropriate bids.

I had some analysis about why some Flippa listings are getting good views while some other listings are NOT getting enough views.

Based on my analysis, I came to know that websites which are appearing in first page of Google for the keywords are getting more views. It seems Flippa is using SEMRush data to list the Auction websites based on position of the websites in Google. And, it looks like most of the Buyers are browsing the sites thro' this list than going thro' the new listings.

So my suggestion is, we should list the site in Flippa only after the site starts appearing in first page of Google for certain keywords, otherwise it will end with less views and therefore less bids, in other words it will end as "unsold".

Flippa is allowing certain "upgrades" to increase the visibility of the Auction listing to the potential buyers. i-e The Sellers can push their Auction listing to the front page or they can choose to tweet about their Listing to the followers of the @Flippa twitter Account. But this upgrade price looks high.

I am NOT sure whether these upgrade prices are worth paying as I haven't used them much. First time I used for this Auction Listing today as my previous listing didn't meet the reserve. Let us see how it is giving results. As of now, the listing views are increasing; but it didn't get appropriate bids yet.

Right now, I am NOT an expert in using the Flippa. But I have observed some space for improvement in the Flippa Site.

For example,

1. Whenever re-listing an Auction, the previous listing is NOT getting updated with link to the latest Listing. (Anyway, it is giving link to the old listing from the relising) For example, I submitted our initial Flippa Auction listing URL in our Social Media Friends/Followers/Circles. But that URL becomes outdated as I re-listed it. I had to relist it as the previous listing didn't meet the reserve. But the visitors of that initial listing URL is not getting any link to the new listing. Even they won't get a chance to know about the existence of the re-listing.
I think Google knol is handling this situation in very nice way. i-e If you visit an outdated article (knol) from old bookmark, it will show link to the latest page.

2. We need to upload all the attachments (Earning proofs such as AdSense Screenshot) again manually while relisting the Auction even if we relist the Auction immediately once the first listing ends unsuccessful. i-e The relisting screen is not preserving the attachments.

3. The first listing is still showing a link for negotiating with the highest bidder even after starting the re-listed auction. But I am not sure whether it will allow to proceed the negotiation.

4. I used to see "Last loggedin" data under user's profile as "4 days ago" while the user sends message few seconds before.

5. While giving feedback to the Buyer from the Seller's Screen, Flippa is incorrectly showing as "Details, to be displayed on the seller's profile:*" . i-e It is showing as "Seller's profile" instead of "Buyer's profile".

I am NOT sure whether these things need to be fixed or there are any valid reason behind such behaviour. You can share your thoughts thro' the comments.

Apart from selling our Sites Thro' Flippa Auctions, I have decided to sell few of our sites without using Auctions. i-e Interested persons can buy few of our sites at the specified price. TIME Magazine selects "The Protestor" as the person of the year

This Year (2011), the TIME magazine is awarding "the person of the year" title to "The Protestor" i-e to everyday people who changed the Arab world’s political landscape.

It was just announced on NBC-TV's The Today Show and on Time's website.

TIME magazine says the protesters representing Occupy Wall Street, Occupy Oakland, Occupy the Hood, the Indignados of Spain, protesters in Greece, revolutionaries in Tunisia and Egypt, activists from Syria fleeing persecution, a crusader fighting corruption in India, Tea Party activists from New York, a renowned poet-turned-protestor from Mexico, and a protestor from Wisconsin who carries a shovel, topped by a flag.

Robert Noyce has the nickname "Mayor of Silicon Valley."

A noted visionary and natural leader, Robert Noyce helped to create a new industry when he developed the technology that would eventually become the microchip.

Robert Norton Noyce was born on December 12, 1927, in Burlington, Iowa, Unites States.

Robert Noyce ran two of the companies that had the greatest impact on the silicon industry: Fairchild Semiconductor and Intel. He also invented the integrated chip (IC), one of the stepping stones along the way to the microprocessors in today's computers. Microchip (IC) is a critical element for modern electronic devices including personal computers, smartphones, video games, microwaves, and cars.

He co-founded Fairchild Semiconductor in 1957. Fairchild was the first successful silicon company. Noyce and Gordon E. Moore founded Intel in 1968. Noyce was granted 15 patents for his inventions in Semiconductor devices field.

At both companies Fairchild and Intel, Noyce introduced a very casual working atmosphere, the kind of atmosphere that has become a cultural stereotype of how California companies work.

Noyce died of heart failure in 1990, at the age of 62.

In his last interview, Noyce was asked what he would do if he were "emperor" of the United States. He said that he would, among other things, "make sure we are preparing our next generation to flourish in a high-tech age. And that means education of the lowest and the poorest, as well as at the graduate school level."

Few months back, I started a website RtoZ.Org by hoping that people can easily remember this name as the word "RtoZ" becomes popular because of the announcement about the RtoZ Media.

Initially I thought of using this site exclusively for publishing news about RtoZ Media. But it seems the RtoZ Media is NOT generating any news. Even then haven't launched their website itself.

So, I have decided to use this site for publishing news about any Social Media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin.

Team Work for Business Success

Few years back, I had published post about essential steps for software development.

Just following those steps are not enough for achieving great results, we need to have one more important thing named as "Team Work".

In this post, I am going to write about the importance and role of Team work in Business.

Teamwork is action performed by a team towards a common goal.

Normally the output from the Team will be more than the sum of individual performance of each of the Team members. Just having more than one person in your organization is not enough to be called as Team, but there should be a common goal among everyone and they need to work together to deliver maximum output.

Effective communication skills are necessary to keep up the good Team Spirit. And, mutual support among the Team members is important. In other words, having Team members who are willing to help each others is more important than having individually skilled persons.

We can not expect everyone to work as Team unless they involve in the creation of Goal for the Team. And, conflict among Team members may occur, but it should be resolved constructively and immediately.

Tools such as Timesheets will be useful for measuring the performance of the Team and they will be useful for correcting any issues in Team. Even free online timesheets are also available.

Google YouTube has released New Look and new features

The most popular Video Site YouTube has updated the Look and Feel of the site and added few new features.

The New Interface of YouTube has a dark gray sidebar on the left side of the page, where users can see their subscribed channels, "Trending" and "Popular Channels" links. Clicking on a link on the left side of the page changes the content in the center column, where videos appear in a list rather than a grid. There's also a right-hand sidebar with "Recommended" and "featured" videos.

Google will stop Search Traffic to Parked Domains

Google has announced that it is updating the Google Search Algorithm so that the Search Results won't include Parked Domains.

A Parked Domain name displays temporary web page without requiring any hosting account. Normally people park the Domain names till they decide to create any website or till they get any hosting accounts or just to hold Domain names and sell them later.

The Parked Domain name pages won't contain any useful content. They will show ads only.

Since the visitor of the Parked Domain won't have any other path to proceed, normally they will click the advertisements and therefore the owner of the Parked domains will earn significant income just by parking the domain name.

Now they will not be able to earn revenue as the Google won't show the Parked domains in the search results.

Because of this change, Parking providers are changing their policy. Today I got below email from Sedo.

As of January 1st 2012, Sedo will no longer pay out parking revenue for any domains parked using URL forwarding, regardless of the advertising provider source. This is based on a decision from our primary
online advertiser, Google, who has stated that they will only monetize name-server (DNS) parked domains.

• DNS-parked domains are more secure and less susceptible to downtime.

• DNS-parked domains load more quickly for visitors, resulting in better CTR and ultimately more revenue.

• DNS forwarding settings can be adjusted in bulk by most registrars, whereas URL forwarding must be set up one domain at a time.

American Airlines Parent AMR Files for Bankruptcy protection

AMR Corporation, the parent company of American Airlines filed for bankruptcy protection in an effort to reduce labor costs and shed a heavy debt burden.

The AMR and certain of its U.S.-based subsidiaries (including American Airlines and AMR Eagle Holding Corporation), today filed voluntary petitions for Chapter 11 reorganization in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

American Airlines is the third-largest carrier in United States. And, AMR was the last of the major legacy airline companies in the United States to file for Chapter 11.

There will no impact on travelers for now. The airline said in a statement that it would be operating normal flight schedules and honoring tickets, as usual, during the process. It added its frequent flyer program is not affected.

“Our board decided that it was necessary to take this step now to restore the company’s profitability, operating flexibility and financial strength,” Thomas W. Horton said in the Statement. Thomas W. Horton will be the new Chairman and Chief Executive of American Airlines, he will be replacing the current CEO Gerald Arpey.

"This was a difficult decision, but it is the necessary and right path for us to take - and take now - to become a more efficient, financially stronger, and competitive airline," Thomas W. Horton said in the statement.

Last month, the airline reported a third-quarter loss of $162 million, or 48 cents a share, due to higher jet fuel prices.

AMR Has $4.1 Billion in Cash to Ensure Uninterrupted Supply of Goods and Services During Proceedings.

One of AMR’s chief goals in bankruptcy will be to lower its labor costs.

Make Your Videos HD (High-Definition) Using Windows Movie Maker

Few months back I have released a video about Father's Day Quotes . This Video was created using Windows Movie Maker. It was NOT showing as HD (High Definition) Video in YouTube.
I think YouTube will be giving high priority for HD videos in Search.

So, I wanted to make our Videos HD. I followed below steps for creating HD video as specified in this Video.

- Go to http://www.filedropper.com/windowsmoviemaker2xphdplugins and click "Download this File" for downloading the Windows movies maker profile plug-in files.

- Place the downloaded files at the /Shared/profile

- Open the Windows Movie maker .

- Go to Tools->Options and then click "Advanced" Tab.

- Set Video Format as "NTSC" as video format and 16:9 as Aspect Ratio as shown in the below picture.

-Do the Video creations steps (importing pictures, adding transition and video effects, etc)

- While saving Movie File (File->Save Movie File ), select the WMV-HD-1280x720 in Movie setting screen as shown in the below picture.

Once after creating the movie file, we can upload them in YouTube to show it as HD Video.

Google Kills many products including Google Wave and Knol

Google has announced that it in the process of shutting a number of products including Google Wave and Knol.

Google Bookmarks Lists is the experimental feature for sharing bookmarks and collaborating with friends. It will be closed on December 19, 2011.

Google Friend Connect (GFC) allows webmasters to add social features to their sites by embedding a few snippets of code It will be retired on March 1, 2012. Google recommends to use Google+ badge instead of this retiring service.

Google Gears will be stopped on December 1, 2011. Instead of Google Gear, Google is going to focus on HTML5 for implementing offline browsing capabilities.

Google Wave we will turned off completely on April 3,2012. Wave users can export the individual wave to pdf files.

Knol will work as usual until April 30, 2012, and the knol authors can download their knols to a file and/or migrate them to WordPress.com.

Google recommends the Knol users to use Annotum.org, which is powered by WordPress and was built in collaboration with Solvitor and Crowd Favorite for moving the knol content.

We have lot of knols and Knol Collections including a knol about QTP Automation which is getting around 2000 page views every week without doing any promotion.

I am analyzing the best way to transfer this traffic to our websites. Google knol has given an option to specify the redirect url for every knol. I am planning to redirect our QTP knol to our QTPbook.com site.
But I am not sure whether it will transfer the SEO advantage too. I need to do more analysis about finding the best way to do the redirection.

Anyway, I believe closure of knol will be useful for me. Because I had spent lot of time/effort to create knols and collections. But CTR for the AdSense ads in the knols is very low. Since knol is allowing redirection now, I think we can transfer the traffic to our own sites which will be having good CTR and therefore good revenue.

Real Time Traffic Data in Google Analytics

Today I got an email from Google Analytics Team regarding the the new version of Google Analytics.
After receiving this email, I checked my Google Analytics Account and found an option to switch into the New version.

This new version of Google Analytics is having a redesigned interface that makes it even easier to explore the data.

Apart from the improved Interface, it has some significant new features too. I found the Real-Time reporting very useful and still exploring the benefits of the other new features such as Multi-Channel Funnels, Mobile Reporting and Flow Visualization.

I believe the Real-Time report feature will be very useful for the webmasters to measure the success of their Social Media promotion efforts and it will help them to make the Social Media promotion effective.

For example, assume that I tweet this post after publishing it. And, I can view the Real-time Traffic from the Google Analytics. From the Real-time reporting, I will be able to know when I need to tweet this post again.

You’ll find Real-Time reports in the ‘Home’ tab.

Note that the Real-time Reporting is still in Beta. When I compared the realtime reports from the feedjit and Google Analytics Real-time reports, I found that Goolge Analytics real-time reports are getting displayed with some delay. And, I am not sure whether Google is going to provide any option to publicly show the Real-time traffic data. So, I think we need to use the other real-time traffic reports such as feedjit till Google address these things.

Multi-Channel Funnels is a feature that visually displays your TOP CONVERSION PATHS. Google will show you a snapshot of shopping behavior that leads up to a sales. Conversion path data includes interactions with many media channels, including clicks from paid and organic searches, affiliates, social networks, and display ads.

More and more, visitors are using mobile devices to browse the web. Mobile reports in the new version of Google Analytics help you understand how mobile visitors are interacting with your site. You can even see which mobile devices your visitors use and optimize for those devices.

Flow Visualization is a beautifully designed and highly sophisticated tool for graphically showing how visitors navigate through your site.

And, Google also rolled out Google Analytics Premium, the first paid Google Analytics product.

Google Doodle for honoring Louis Daguerre who invented the daguerreotype process of photography

By showing Special Doodle in its Home Page, Google is honoring Louis Daguerre who was a French artist and physicist, recognized for his invention of the daguerreotype process of photography. He was born on November 18, 1787 in France. Today is his 224th birthday.

A professional scene painter for the opera with an interest in lighting effects, Daguerre began experimenting with the effects of light upon translucent paintings in the 1820s.

He invented the Daguerreotype along with Nicéphore Niépce. Louis Daguerre introduced the daguerreotype process to the public on August 19, 1839 at a meeting of the French Academy of Sciences in Paris.

Before the daguerreotype, photography required hours of exposure and Louis Daguerre's invention reduced it to 20-30 minutes

The daguerreotype was the first commercially successful photographic process. The daguerreotype is a direct-positive process, creating a highly detailed image on a sheet of copper plated with a thin coat of silver without the use of a negative. The process required great care. Although daguerreotypes are unique images, they could be copied by redaguerreotyping the original. Copies were also produced by lithography or engraving. Portraits based upon daguerreotypes appeared in popular periodicals and in books.

Daguerre’s Boulevard du Temple could be the first photograph to include a human being. The photo was taken by Daguerre in 1838 in Paris, and it captured a man standing alongside the road. Louis Daguerre achieve the Boulevard du Temple after exposing a chemically treated metal plate for ten minutes. Surprisingly, the person standing alongside the road was not the only person around that time. Other “human beings” were walking or riding in carriages down but they’re were moving so they didn’t show up.

Steps for Setting Default User Notify option in phpBB Forum

Few years back, we had set-up a phpBB based Forum for allowing the users to discuss about various things including software testing and web development.

And, our Team is spending time and effort to update knowledge base section of this Forum. We use this Forum as Support Forum for our products.

Large number of users are joining this Forum, as this Forum members can freely access lot of our applications such as Quiz, Twitter Tools, SEO Tools, social bookmarking, etc.

While writing this post, this Forum is having 4,890 Members. Note that almost all these members will be real active users. Because We had taken lot of steps to prevent spam users. And, our own batch script will delete the spammers periodically. Let me know if you still find any spammers in our Forum.

So, the Forum is having lot of benefits and lot of members too. But active discussion in this Forum is low even it is having lot of active members.

After doing some investigation, we were able to find the reason for this low active discussion. The Forum is NOT informing the users about any new reply added to their question. So, the people are NOT willing to use this Forum for asking any further questions without knowing the fact that their questions are getting answered.

This Forum is having "subscribe" option for allowing the users to get notified whenever they get any reply. But it seems most of the people are not knowing this feature. By default it is turned off.

So, I wanted to turn on it by default. I searched the ACP to find any setting for making this change. But I couldn't find any setting for turning it on by default.

After doing some Google search, I did it with below two steps.

1. For setting default "subscribe" option for the New users.

Open \includes\functions_user.php and replace 'user_notify'=> 0, with 'user_notify'=> 1,

2. For setting default "subscribe" option for the Existing users.

Run the following SQL query:

UPDATE phpbb_users
SET user_notify = 1
WHERE user_type <> 2;

Remember to purge the Cache using ACP if you want to see this change immediately.

Anoymous Hackers warned that they were going to destroy Facebook on November 5th.

But nothing happened on November 5th.

It seems they have started spreading their virus now. Lot of Facebook users are reporting suspicious activities in their Facebook account.

Its rumoured Fawkes virus could be responsible for what is happening,

Facebook is taking steps to prevent spreading of such viruses. It started asking mobile phone verification and asking to verify the tags in friends photos.

Same mobile phone number can not be used for verifying more than one Facebook account.

Even during war musical instruments were played. Lord Krishna's flute is known in the whole world for its magical music. In mordern days mr. Zakir Hussain is world famous as Tabla Mastro. Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma is known as a great Santoor player all over the world.

Space for Improvement in PayPal Dispute System.

Today I have noticed a need for the improvement in the Dispute System of the popular Payment Gateway system "PayPal".

Recently I sold a script to a Buyer and I clearly mentioned below Terms and Conditions in the invoice itself apart from communicating this message to buyer thro' email.

Terms and conditions

- The Discount is applicable only for this un-updated version of the script. i-e you can get this for $150 only if you buy it today (2nd November) before we start updating this script.
- Refund is NOT applicable at any situation, as we will provide the source code.
- Any further corrections and updations are NOT free. We can do any corrections/updations for additional charge based on hourly billing.

But, today I was surprised to see the Buyer was able to remove this $150 from my PayPal account using "PayPal Dispute". I didn't like this paypal's behavour. Why paypal is reducing my balance while I clearly mentioned as "Refund is NOT applicable at any situation" in the Terms and Conditions of the invoice?

I couldn't understand why PayPal is supporting the buyer who is NOT respecting its "Terms and Conditions" feature.

The worst thing is, because of this dispute PayPal had cancelled my last Bank withdrawal. I will be losing significant amount because of the exchange rate difference during this cancellation.

I think PayPal Dispute System can be improved further. For example, apart from providing text area for entering free text for "Terms and Conditions" field, PayPal can provide a checkbox or radio button for specifying whether refund is allowed or not.

And, if the Seller chooses checkbox not to allow refund, the buyer should not be able to start the dispute for asking refund. Since the Buyer will be notified about "No refund" policy, it won't affect the Buyer. This feature will be very useful for the Sellers who sell digital products. I am NOT sure whether any disadvantage is there. You can share your comments about this suggestion.

I have asked PayPal Support to take necessary action against this Buyer who wastes my time without respecting the "Terms and Conditions".

I will update this post later once after I get the response from the PayPal support.

PayPal Support helped me to close the Dispute and I got back the Money.

Google Doodle for 144th Birth anniversary of Marie Curie

Google celebrates the 144th anniversary of the birth of scientist Marie Curie by showing Special Doodle on the Home page of the Search Engine Google.com.

Curie was born in Warsaw on 7 November 1867, but moved to Paris in 1891 to pursue her studies in mathematics and physics at the Sorbonne. Working alongside her husband Pierre, she is credited with discovering polonium and radium. The couple were awarded the Nobel prize for physics in 1903. Curie is the first woman receiving Nobel prize. And, She got Nobel prize of Chemistry also. She is the first person receiving two Nobel prizes.

Her achievements include a theory of radioactivity techniques for isolating radioactive isotopes, and the discovery of two elements, polonium and radium. Under her direction, the world's first studies were conducted into the treatment of neoplasms, using radioactive isotopes. She founded the Curie Institutes.

Marie Curie

During World War I, Curie helped set up mobile field hospitals that featured primitive X-ray equipment to help detect shrapnel in soldiers.

Curie helped forever change not only how science thought about radioactivity, but also how the world perceived women in science.

Exposed to so many radioactive materials throughout her career, Marie Curie died of aplastic anemia in 1835.

France and Poland declared 2011 to be the Year of Marie Curie to honor this great Scientist.

Former Indian President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam expresses satisfaction about the Safety of Koodankulam Nuclear Project

Former Indian President Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam had visited Koodankulam Nuclear power plant (KNPP) in Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu, India. And, Kalam had expressed satisfaction about the Safety of the Nuclear Plant after having detailed discussion with KNPP officials and inspecting the safety features of the plant.

"I am completely satisfied. I am happy to see such safety measures. I am happy that this reactor will be safe to all the people around the plant," Kalam told reporters after inspecting the plant. "The third generation nuclear reactor is totally safe and is a boon to the people," Kalam added. He said electricity is necessary for India's economic growth.

Asked if he suspected whether 'foreign missionaries' were instigating the locals against the plant, Kalam said, "My great teachers have taught me not to suspect any person."

Meanwhile, an official of the anti-nuclear movement said they are not willing to have dialogue with Kalam on the issue.

Kudankulam Agitation

Kalam asks below question to the people who oppose this Nuclear plant.

Will we allow an accident in Japan, in a 40-year-old reactor at Fukushima, arising out of extreme natural stresses, to derail our dreams to be an economically developed nation?'

And, Kalam suggests a 10-point Kudankulam PURA (Providing Urban Amenities in Rural Areas) programme. Four-lane highways, a mega desalination plant, construction of houses, schools, hospitals as well as cold storages are amongst the suggestions to the Indian government made by Kalam for the development of Kudankulam and surrounding areas.

Abdul Kalam explains the importance/need for Nuclear plants by giving below details.

Nuclear Plants use Type-1 fuel, which is hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of times more powerful than the conventional Type-0 fuels, which are basically dead plants and animals existing in the form of coal, petroleum, natural gas and other forms of fossil fuel. i-e Few Bags of naturally occurring Thorium (Type-1 Fuel) can generate same amount of energy generated by Tonnes of Coal (Type-0 fuel).
Energy is the most fundamental requirement of every society or nation as it progresses through the ladder of development. There is a distinct and categorical correlation between the energy consumption and income of a nation — each reinforcing the other. India sees rapid economic growth after liberalization. All this economic growth will need massive energy.
Germany's decision about phasing out Nuclear plants should not be compared with India's Nuclear plans. Because, Germany is a power-surplus nation, and they had to import Uranium if they want to continue the Nuclear plants. India, on the other hand, is the leader of the new resource of nuclear fuel called Thorium, which is considered to be the nuclear fuel of the future.
A study indicates that most of the prosperous nations are extracting about 30-40 per cent of power from nuclear power and it constitutes a significant part of their clean energy portfolio, reducing the burden of combating climate change and the health hazards associated with pollution.
Solar and wind power, despite all their advantages, are not stable and are dependent excessively on weather and sunshine conditions. Nuclear power, on the other hand, provides a relatively clean, high-density source of reliable energy with an international presence. Today, there are 29 countries operating 441 nuclear power plants, with a total capacity of about 375 GW(e). The industry now has more than 14,000 reactor-years of experience. Sixty more units, with a total target capacity of 58.6 GW, were under construction.
We should not compare a nuclear bomb with a nuclear plant. The bomb is designed to deliver a large amount of energy over a very short period of time, leading to explosions, firestorms and massive heat energy generated to obliterate every object in its path. That is what a bomb is supposed to do! Civilian nuclear applications in the form of a power plant, on the other hand, are designed to deliver small amounts of energy in a sustainable manner over a far larger time frame. It is designed with systems to control and cool the nuclear reaction. There are safety procedures and back-ups.
At Tsunami-affected Japan's Fukushima-Daiichi plant, there was no direct loss of life due to the accident or during the operation in its aftermath to contain it. But according to WHO, about 1.3 million people lose their lives as a result of urban outdoor air pollution which is a direct consequence of electricity generation requirements.
Comparing to Flight and Ship Accidents, Nuclear plant accidents are rare. Even those rare Nuclear accidents can be avoided in future due to the rapid development of Technologies.
Coal mine fires cause huge loss to Life and Property.
While radiation due to a nuclear disaster is dangerous, it would amount to wrong propaganda to state that nuclear disasters will affect generations to come.

India's nuclear power plant operator NPCIL is building two 1,000 MW nuclear power reactors with Russian technology and equipment in Kudankulam.

The first unit is expected to go on stream in December. The project is estimated to cost around Rs.13,160 crore (over $2.5 billion).

But, thousands of protesters and villagers living around the plant, are blocking highways and staging hunger strikes, preventing further construction work, demanding closure of this plant, as they believe that the nuclear plant is unsafe.

The Indian Government has already set up a 15-member expert committee to clear "misconceptions" about the project.

Apart from being a notable scientist and engineer, Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam has served as the 11th President of India from 2002 to 2007.

He is popularly known as the Missile Man of India for his work on development of ballistic missile and space rocket technology. Kalam takes important roles in India’s Pokhran-II nuclear test in 1998

Dr. Kalam had received honorary doctorates from 30 universities and institutions, and he is the recipient of many awards including India’s highest award Bharath Ratna.

Nuclear (fission) power is carbon neutral and if done right (not the way the US does it) has less waste material per unit energy than ANY carbon based fuel. In my opinion the only better alternative is nuclear fusion power which we don't have yet. I am from the USA, and I fully support nuclear power.

Breeder reactors (where you get more fuel than you put in) are even harder to build due to added security concerns that are raised when you produce weapons-grade plutonium, so many politically viable nuclear power plant designs are less efficient and 'dirtier'.
The problem where nuclear waste will last 10,000 years? Why is that stuff so dangerous and for so long? Because it's giving off radiation, aka energy, and here's a lot of it, which is why it's so dangerous and for so long - yet we call it waste and need to hide it away. Breeder reactors + nuclear waste reprocessing = waste that is nowhere near as dirty (it's still not clean by any measure - but it's a damn sight cleaner), but the problem is weaponizable nuclear material exists somewhere in that chain, and the US wants as little of that stuff floating around as possible. Not unreasonable, but 'waste that lasts 10,000 years' isn't an unsolved problem in nuclear physics.
I am also in the US and favor nuclear power.

I am a big proponent for nuclear power plants. The craziest thing about it, in the USA at least, is how they've turned environmentalists against it! You'd think that they'd be amongst the staunchest supporters.

If a 40 year old, mismanaged plant can survive a huge earthquake, subsequent tsunami and still not go critical I wouldn't mind in the slightest if a properly managed, modern plant were built close by. Keep in mind that the only economical alternative in most of the world is still coal power. Mining coal destroys the environment and routinely kills workers. Burning coal releases radiation, soot and all kinds of nasty crap that adds to deaths- however, it's a slow process, not flashy and newsworthy like nuke plant problems

I don't mean to be a pedant, but I must LOL every time I see someone misuse the word "critical". When a reactor is "critical", the number of neutrons created from fission that go on to create another fission on average is equal to 1. In other words, reactor power is constant and self-sustaining. It is not a bad thing. On the contrary, it is quite normal for a reactor to be "critical".

And if you look into wind power, it's no just the inconsistent power output that is an issue. They do in fact put a toll on the environment, though much more subtly. Can anyone honestly say that the relativity short life of a wind farm, coupled with incredibly high cost of production, is worth the end result?
Im not saying they are the devil incarnate, im just trying to point out that they are very cost ineffective compared to other renewable energy sources. Plus I support nuclear power and hate to see efforts in that field get scaled back.

Ideally I want Solar and Wind to replace coal. Unfortunately we can't do that right now for the many reasons, so I support Nuclear, Solar and Wind replacing Coal.

Yes, I'm from the US. Coal kills an estimated 1 million people annually, and natural gas/oil are also way up there. Nuclear is far safer than fossil fuels, but because deaths occur in one massive burst, its dangers are more noticeable. Nobody notices the thousands of people who die from coal-related breathing disorders though, since they die quietly in hospitals. IIRC, it's also safer than hydroelectric if people live below the dam. Obviously sustainable choices (solar, geothermal, wind) are better for human safety, but unfortunately they don't have the capacity to provide for 100% of our energy needs. Nuclear can fill the gap. Fusion would be safer than current technology, and with much less nuclear waste, so I think we should push research on fusion.

More deaths have come from coal than nuclear even including Japan, and coal waste is surprisingly more radioactive (larger amounts)than nuclear.

Yeah, the problem w/ solar and wind right now is storage for times when there isn't wind or sunlight. That's why nuclear is the best option (at the moment) because it can produce a stream of power that doesn't fluctuate (much) and with very little waste with new reactors.

It supports me. Nuclear power is by far the most efficient source of "clean energy." It raw dogs the other alternatives by far. I'd rather have that than coal burnoff but I'm American, if it seems good to go at first glance, "Awesome," sort the details later.

Nuke plants are fine depending on the age/type and maintenance.

I very much support nuclear energy and therefore power plants, just make sure they aren't built around areas that are prone to earthquakes or tsunamis.

I personally support them, but as an undergraduate process engineer I've been somewhat taught that they are the future. They have several pro's and con's but are probably the most realistic option in what people understand as sustainable. The most important fact to remember is that they are available now as a carbon neutral (in the sense that the general public understands it) source of power, and they can actually provide a realistic amount of the worlds energy requirements. Wind is pretty much useless on a large scale, and the amount of solar panels it would take to power a large city is unrealistic. Uranium comes from mostly from Canada and Russia, making it more reliable than middle eastern based oil sources. (most US oil comes from North and South America, but I'm from the UK).

I have lived in a town with a nuclear power plant my entire life (Ohio, USA) and I can see no downside to it. It helps the economy (helps pay for a multi-million-dollar, public school AND gives countless jobs to the community) and really causes no problems. Sure, there was a scare during 9/11, and that was somewhat terrifying (especially being a youngin'), but other than that I have full confidence in it. My house is maybe a three minute drive from being right in front of the facility's gates (I can run there, and frequently do during workouts, in 10-15 minutes), and honestly seeing it when I come home from college (or anywhere for that matter) reminds me that I'm home. In my mind, I see no problems with them, and the community embraces it as well. But hey, that's just my two cents. I'm open to any questions that people might have about them and will try to answer questions to the best of my ability!

Nuclear Power Plants are better than other power plants - it is that easy of a sweeping generalization. Fact. Building Nuclear Power Plants near sea level, near the coast, with backup generators at ground level was the problem with Fukushima. Nuclear Power was not to blame for what happened. There is so much better Nuclear technology available now than there was when most of our plants were built.

I think nuclear power plants are a great idea. However, I think that the greedy, lying, low-balling, corner-cutting, regulation-setting-and-ignoring corporations that run nuclear power plants are a nearly insurmountable problem.

I do support nuclear power plants. Currently, there isn't a good enough generation source which provides the base line that nuclear does. Yes, you could supplement that loss with extra CCGTs, or coal plants, but then there's the added CO2. And replacing them with renewable sources would take a massive investment, and plus, frequency stabilisation will be much much harder without any big generations on the grid. And with the Japan Tsunami disaster, i havent looked into specifics that much, but wasnt the Fukushima-Daiichi plant built on a fault line? This isnt a good enough reason to just blanket ban nuclear power really.

I fully support nuclear energy. I actually did a paper on this subject. The big thing with solar energy is that it is pretty damn expensive to start up, and it takes up a LOT of room, just like wind energy. And nobody wants all of those solar panels or wind turbines in their backyard. Coal kills people as well, just like nuclear, but whether it is from the mining of it, or just the emissions, it does. The downside to nuclear energy right now is that it is expensive to start up a new plant, so we keep using our old ones, which are built by oceans for the water supply to cool the reactors. Technology has become sufficient enough that we don't need to have the plants near an ocean, nor do I think we even need them near a river. So the threat of a tsunami wipeout can be reduced to nothing if we moved inland with them. Not all places can do this though like Japan. The other issue is the nuclear waste, but that is being worked on. They are finding ways to reduce the amount of waste produced, and I believe that they are working on a way to be able to re-use spent fuel rods. I just researched this a year ago, things may have progressed or changed since then, but I will be for nuclear energy. I am in the United States.

Of course. It's safe, clean, & efficient, what's not to support?

If every single nuclear reactor in the US blew up and killed as many people a Chernobyl did, there would still be more deaths in a month caused by air pollution from burning fossil fuels.

I am always in favor on Nuclear power, if it is properly maintained and managed it can be a amazing power source.

I support Nucelar Power, and am from the USA. In my particular region, most people oppose it because they don't understand the mechanisms or even statistics. They also oppose hydroelectric dams and wind power because of the damage they do to the environment. They love solar power, but unfortunately, we have rain/overcast for about 9-10 months out of the year.

I would personally sooner live 3 miles from a Nuclear Plant than 3 miles from a Coal Fired Plant, statistically much more dangerous in the latter case.

I fully support them. What is funny is that I have yet to meet someone with a degree in engineering, and more specifically nuclear engineering, that does not. People against the nuclear energy often have not a clue of what they are talking about.

There are risks associated with nuclear power plants, but these risks are overstated. A modern built plant would be significantly safer.

I fully support fission reactors, despite their faults. I don't think the current state of affairs is sustainable forever, and welcome the creation of molten salt reactors if/when they are implemented. Coal power plants for example produce much more radiation than nuclear plants due to radioactive isotopes in the coal.

Yes, because it is much safer than coal (13,000 people every year die from power plants, whereas 4,000 people died from Chernobyl, ignoring cancer deaths). In addition, the recent meltdown was due to an abnormally large earthquake: the plant was designed to handle up to a magnitude 8 earthquake.

I had published a post about RtoZ Media few months back.

There were no further updates/progress about R To Z Media even if Randi Zuckerberg had made announcement about R to Z Media few months back itself.

YouTube video buffering/loading is taking too much time after using "stabilize" option in YouTube ?

Few days back I created and uploaded a video "Do it Anyway" to YouTube.

I had noticed "Stabilize" option under "Video Edit" feature of YouTube. I used this "stabilize" option to automatically improve the quality of the video. The preview showed some improvements in the Quality of the video.

But the buffering/loading of this video is taking too much time after enhancing the quality. I am NOT sure whether this "slow loading" is related to the "stabilize" feature or due to some other reason.

I had tried to get more details to fix this issue by doing Google search. But I couldn't get relevant answer. Even the Google YouTube Help files are NOT telling any fix for these kind of issues.

If you know the way to improve the the video loading speed, you can share it thro' the comments.

I had taken YouTube speed Test also. Find below the result. It seem there no significant change in the speed.

(Taking speed test is easy. Just right click the YouTube Video, and click "Take speed Test" option in the context menu.)

It looks like this issue occurs only in my machine. Few Other computers are loading it properly. Note that my machine is loading other videos quickly. It seems this behaviour is very strange.

APJ Abdul Kalam celebrates 80th birthday by planting saplings with kids

India's former President APJ Abdul Kalam celebrated his 80th birthday by planting saplings along with hundreds of children and farmers at Nandangarai near Coimbatore on Saturday, 15th October.

"This is the first time I am celebrating my birthday in a grand but unique manner, that too in the company of children," Kalam said, after cutting a cake.

While addressing a group of students , Kalam hoped that he would touch a century so as to witness the might of today’s youth. “If I complete 100 years...if I am alive, then I will be seeing many of you walking on the Moon and Mars. Hold on to your dreams to reach your goals. Never give up. Will you?” he said.

Kalam started asking how many of them wanted to become doctors, engineers and IAS officers. And, he had an extra option for the youth as he asked how many of them wanted to become entrepreneurs.

“In the last one decade, I have met about 12 million youth all over the world and their power and capabilities never cease to surprise me,” said APJ Abdul Kalam.

- The year 2011 is declared by UN (United Nations) as "International Year of Forests".

- Everyone should plant and grow atleast one tree if he wants to be a human being.

It seems this "Quotes Tweets" feature attracts many people as it helps them to get more Twitter Followers easily. Many people already started using this feature. And, anyone can start using this feature just by doing few clicks within a minute time.

As part of improving this "Quotes Tweeting" feature further, I am planning to add lot of new "Motivational Quotes" to the Database of Quotes Auto Tweeting module.

You can share your favorite Motivational Quotes thro' the comments. I will add them to the "Quotes Tweets" database once after reviewing them.

Paypal increases Receiving Limit to USD 3000 for Indian Users.

The Payment Gateway "PayPal" has increased the payment Receiving Limit to $ 3000 USD for the Indian Users.

At the end of January month PayPal had added many restriction for the Indian users. One of the Restrictions is the $500 USD limit for receiving the payments.

Now, PayPal has increased this limit from $500 to $3000 which will will be welcomed by Indian PayPal users as well as by the Buyers from many countries who faced difficulty for paying more than $500 for the Goods/Services bought from Indian merchants.

We’ve been notified by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) that our merchants in India can receive export-related payments for goods and services into their PayPal account up to USD 3000 per transaction (raised from USD 500 per transaction), effective immediately. Over the past few months, we have received feedback from our merchants in India and shared it with the RBI. India's PSLV-C18 sends four satellites in orbit

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) placed four satellites in designated orbits using Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle-C18 ( PSLV-C18).

"The launch was a great success," said ISRO chairman K Radhakrishnan, at a press conference at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota. He says,
"It demonstrates again the reliability and versatility of PSLV as a launching platform."

The primary payload was the 1000kg weather satellite, Megha-Tropiques, developed jointly by ISRO and the French national space agency, CNES.

28.7kg VesselSat-1 from Luxembourg and two student satellites - the 3kg Jugnu from IIT Kanpur and the 10.9kg SRMSat from SRM University in Chennai were also launched using this PSLV- C18.

Megha-Tropiques will study climatic and atmospheric conditions in the tropics and help predict monsoons, cyclones, floods and droughts.

Jugnu will focus on imaging the earth in the near-infrared region.

SRMSat will attempt to address global warming and pollution by monitoring carbon-dioxide and water vapour levels in the atmosphere.

VesselSat will help locate ships in the sea lanes.

Since PSLV launch frequency is getting increased, India plans to start another launch site. An ISRO official said that a new assembly plant could take up to five years to complete if the work begins now.

India launches world's cheapest Android Tablet "Aakash"

Few days back Amazon had released Kindle Fire Tablet for $199, and it was known as cheapest Tablet.

Now, India has launched a Table just for $35 USD to become the Cheapest Tablet in the World. This Tablet is named as "Aakash" which translates to "sky".

The Indian Government distributed its low-cost tablet "Aakash" to 500 college students from all over the country on Wednesday.

The government this week said it will sell the tablets "Aakash" to schools for as low as 1,100 rupees ($22 US), far less than Hewlett Packard Co.’s discontinued TouchPad ($99) and Amazon.com Inc.’s new Kindle Fire ($199)

While it is certainly the cheapest tablet available, it is not the most feature rich. The Android-powered tablet features 2 GB of storage space, expandable to 32 GB, a 366 MHz processor, 256 MB of RAM memory, and a 7-inch, 800-by-400 pixel resolution touchscreen. It also has two USB ports, WiFi connectivity, and video conferencing capabilities.

The device is said to be capable of playing videos, games, and Internet browsing.

India plans to get these tablets at 2,250 rupees ($46 US) each from U.K.-based DataWind Ltd and sell it to schools at subsidized prices.

Datawind says it can make about 100,000 units a month at the moment, not nearly enough to meet India's hope of getting its 220 million children online.

While the tablet costs around $50 to manufacture, colleges and schools will be able to buy the device for $35 for student use. It will launch to the general public in December at a price of around $60 under the name “UbiSlate.”

There are concerns that the slow and reportedly somewhat unresponsive touchscreen will hinder the government’s attempts to put an Aakash in the hands of every student. But for many, the simple availability of the tablet is a revolution.

“The rich have access to the digital world, the poor and ordinary have been excluded,” said Kapil Sibal, Indian education minister. “Aakash will end that digital divide.”

“This is a made-in-India product,” said Suneet Singh Tuli, CEO of DataWind, who manufactures the tablet. The Indian government put out a tender to develop the tablet and initially reached an agreement with HCL Infosystems, but the deal broke down after the company realized that it could not reach the government’s price target.

Both Sibal and Suneet Singh Tuli called for competition to improve the product and drive prices down further.

Nobel Peace prize for 3 women

Nobel peace prize 2011 is handed jointly to three women. The Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded to Liberian President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, her compatriot Leymah Gbowee, and Yemeni women's rights activist Tawakkul Karman.

The award was intended as a strong signal in favour of the empowerment of women in the developing world.

The Norwegian committee said it had honoured the three women "for their non-violent struggle for the safety of women and for women's rights to full participation in peace-building work". It was the first time a woman had been given the prize in seven years.

Prize committee chairman Thorbjorn Jagland said he hoped the prize would bring more attention to the violence against women as well as women's role in promoting democracy in Africa and the Arab and Muslim world.

Tawakkul Karman is known among Yemenis as the "iron woman" and the "mother of the revolution" .

Karman says "I am very very happy about this prize" , and she says "I give the prize to the youth of revolution in Yemen and the Yemeni people"

Mrs Johnson-Sirleaf, 72 has been widely praised for leading Liberia out of years of civil war and brutality and for reducing rampant corruption.

Johnson Sirleaf is a Harvard-trained economist who became Africa's first democratically elected female president in 2005.

She was seen as a reformer and peacemaker in Liberia when she took office. She is running for re-election this month and opponents in the presidential campaign have accused her of buying votes and using government funds to campaign. Her camp denies the charges

Ms. Gbowee, who organized a group of Christian and Muslim women to challenge Liberia's warlords, was honored for mobilizing women "across ethnic and religious dividing lines to bring an end to the long war in Liberia, and to ensure women's participation in elections."

The Norwegian Nobel Committee has decided that the Nobel Peace Prize for 2011 is to be divided in three equal parts between Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Leymah Gbowee and Tawakkul Karman for their non-violent struggle for the safety of women and for women’s rights to full participation in peace-building work. We cannot achieve democracy and lasting peace in the world unless women obtain the same opportunities as men to influence developments at all levels of society.

In the most trying circumstances, both before and during the “Arab spring”, Tawakkul Karman has played a leading part in the struggle for women’s rights and for democracy and peace in Yemen.

It is the Norwegian Nobel Committee’s hope that the prize to Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Leymah Gbowee and Tawakkul Karman will help to bring an end to the suppression of women that still occurs in many countries, and to realise the great potential for democracy and peace that women can represent.

The Nobel peace prize is handed out in Oslo, Norway, while the other five awards (medicine, physics, chemistry, literature and economics) are presented in Stockholm.

Last year's Nobel peace prize went to imprisoned Chinese dissident Liu Xiaobo. Mr. Liu was not allowed to leave China to receive the prize and was represented on stage at the award ceremony last December by an empty chair

Apple unveils the iPhone 4S, and adds another carrier "Sprint"

Apple unveiled the "iPhone 4S" during a press event "Let's Talk iPhone" at its Cupertino, California headquarters.

iPhone 4S will feature a retina display and dual-core processor that makes the phone twice as fast as its predecessor.

It launches October 14 for AT&T, Verizon and Sprint, and starts at $199 for the 16 GB model.

iPhone 4S was introduced by Apple CEO Tim Cook. All major Apple products were introduced by Apple Founder Steve Jobs. This is the first time, Apple product is getting released after Steve Jobs resigned from Apple due to his health problems.

The important feature of "iPhone 4S" is "Siri", the intelligent assistant that helps you get things done.

You can just ask "siri" to remind you something, or get any information or answer for any questions, such as "Will it be Sunny this weekend in Miami"?

Page RPM is high for Interest-Based Ads of Google AdSense

Today, I came to know that Page RPM for Interest-Based Ads are high for our sites comparing to the Contexual Targeting and Placement Targeting.

Interest-Based Ads means, Google will show the advertisements on a blog or website based on the browsing history of the visitor. For example, if I visit my blog after visiting our qtpbook.com site, Google may show the QTP related advertisements in my blog.

Actually I had noticed this kind of Interest-Based ads one year back itself.

Normally, Google AdSense will show ads using "Contexual Targeting" which shows ads based on the content of the page. Apart from "Contexual Targeting" Google allows "Placement Targeting" which shows advertisements by giving option for the AdWords Advertisers to choose our pages to show their ads.

Based on my analysis, these "Contexual Targeting" ads are giving relatively high earnings even when the CTR for these ads are comparatively low.

Now, I have below questions.

1. Why "Contexual Targeting" ads are giving high earnings? Is it happening only for me, or everyone is seeing the same pattern?

2. Why CTR for "Contexual Targeting" ads is low? Or, is it happening only for me?

3. Is it possible to show more number of "Contexual Targeting" ads by doing any changes in our adsense settings or in our pages?

Amazon unveils Android-based Tablet "Fire" with 7-inch Display. Price Starts with $199

Today, the world’s largest online retailer "Amazon" is unveiling a tablet "Fire".

The "Fire" may not have all the same features as an iPad, but will start at a much lower price. It will cost $199, compared to the iPad, which starts at $499.

The device will have a 7-inch display , and will run Google’s Android software, but it won’t have an embedded camera or microphone. Additionally, it will come with Wi-Fi, but not 3G.

The device will come with a 30-day free trial of Amazon Prime, the company’s $79-a-year membership service that includes streaming video and free two-day shipping.

Sales of Amazon’s electronic books, movies and music on the device may help make up for the narrower profit margins that are likely to result from the low price, said Brian Blair, an analyst at Wedge Partners Corp. in New York

Amazon is unveiling "Fire" as competition for Apple iPad even after two major companies (RIM and HP) already tried and failed to compete with Apple iPad.

And, Amazon announced the Amazon Kindle Touch, a device smaller and lighter than previous Kindles, with an infrared touch system.

Amazon also announced an even smaller, thinner, lighter and cheaper Amazon Kindle, that will retail in the US for only $79. The cheapest Kindle eReader has no keyboard or touchsreen.

Recently Samsung has agreed to pay royalties to Microsoft for using Android on Tablets as well as SmartPhone.

Yahoo is dying.....

While Google is celebrating its 13th Birthday, Yahoo is moving towards its End. Yes, Yahoo is going to die soon.

In July 2009, I had published a Post about Microsoft's plan for buying Yahoo.

Now, Yahoo is in the process of getting migrated to Microsoft. Many Yahoo products are getting deprecated now.

Site Explorer API of Yahoo is also deprecated. We used this Site explorer API in many of our SEO Tools for getting the back link details of any URL.

Since Yahoo deprecated this service, our Tools (Back links Tools, Link Analysis Tool) won't work now. We are working on to find some alternate ways to bring up our Tools again.

I will update it once we brought back our Tools.

Search Giant Google is celebrating its 13th birthday by showing below Doodle in Home page of Google.

The Doodle Shows Birthday Party Scenes with Multi-colored balloons, Birthday Cake and Candles.

In 1996, Standord University students Larry Page and Sergey Brin built a search engine called "BackRub" which determines the importance of webpages using the Links. They formalized their work in 1998 to create "Google".

Founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin named the search engine they built “Google,” a play on the word “googol,” the mathematical term for a 1 followed by 100 zeros. The name reflects the immense volume of information that exists, and the scope of Google’s mission: to organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful.

Apart from Search, Now Google is doing lot of other businesses also. For example, Google advertisement (AdSense and AdWords), Google Checkout, Google affiliate program, Google Apps, Google Mobile devices and Android OS, Google email "Gmail", Social networking such as Google+ and Orkut, Google Browser "Chrome", Google Video Sharing site "YouTube", Google TV and Google blog site "Blogger" are few of them. Google is following their policies strictly. Google believes that Focusing on Users will bring everything else. That's why they are still not allowing money to influence their search results.

Recently I had planned to start doing SEO projects for our Customers. And, the initial response for our announcement is Good. So, we are planning to focus more on SEO projects. But we will continue our product development also once after streamlining this new SEO initiative.

Google improves DMCA Request Take Downs to handle Copyright Infringements.

Few Years back, I had published a post about handling Plagiarism and I informed about Plagiarism prevention in Google Knol.

In this post we will see how to prevent Copyright Infringements , especially how Google is working on to prevent any Copyright Infringements.

Few months back, Google had released panda update to its Search Engine to reduce search rank of scrapped contents.

But it seems this update affects the original content author also in some ways. For example, assume that you are publishing a Tutorial about Wordpress blog today in your website. If your site is NOT having enough backlinks, Google may take few days to crawl and index your post. But, if a scrapping site with strong link building scraps your Wordpress blog Tutorial and publish it in their site, Google bot will start indexing it today itself. So, there will a possibility for your original content to be treated as spam by Google.

So, now preventing copyright infringements becomes very critical. Google is willing to help the authors to prevent copyright infringement of their original content by allowing them to file DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) complaint easily from web form.
